Faridabad Diary

Well 10th may 2008 I boarded the flight and was off to Delhi. I was to move to Faridabad via Delhi…….On official tour…on project named RSBY. Was hearing it lot from everybody in co.… so voluntarily gave my name for this project…as I wanted to know what RSBY is all about. The journey, the days which I spent there will remain forever with me whole my life…..
Well I knew it will be a tough project as it was May and knew that sun will be scorching hot.. Temperature in Faridabad going as high as 44 degree….I directly went to the place where our operators were stationed…. I was told to reach Badarpur border.. which I did through Airport cab…after reaching there I saw CYCLE AUTO… still in many parts of India cycle auto are popular mode of transport… I took that and was really pissed off as I had to get down 6 times as the road was in very bad state….i even pushed rickshaw thrice as it need to go on the upward slope….Finally I reached the destination.. it was Lakkarpur Village…where power cuts are at whim and fancies of the govt.,, water shortage is common…no conveyance…for one good place to eat you need to walk one KM…….. for drinking water we need to purchase 1re. Water pouch…Faridabad also is very dusty place…I use to eat around half kg dust (sand) (exaggerated) by default during local travel. Being Mumbaiaites we are used to see throng whereas it was solitary alleys in Faridabad, even in Faridabad city u will not find much throng around in streets….
Was not well already since I started from Mumbai… had got throat infection, which got aggravated there…in between one day I lost my voice completely…I had to write down and tell what I wanted to say. In entire trip I was unable to bath thrice, thrice didn’t even had time to brush my teeth’s…….washed my cloths on my own….. (Meanwhile another colleague joined me… Vivek, hardworking and nice chap). Among all these hardships the one thing to cheer for.. was the work/output (Though it was not that good initially).. We then moved to next block, Palwal. Things started there even better as compared to last block…..was really very happy when we achieved 978 enrol. in a day.. missed thousand by a small margin. Average strike was constantly above 70%.
By then it was time for me to return back as I had some personal agenda pending when I left Mumbai…
Well I understood the value of all the conveniences we have here in urban life…. Was also Missing Mumbai badly… nothing beats Mumbai… Yeh hai Mumbai meri jaansigning off for now.....
